UAE Student Forum 2011

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the United States hosted under the initiative of His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, a three-day conference held November 24-26, 2011 in Washington, D.C. for UAE students currently enrolled at U.S. postsecondary institutions.

The 2011 Forum, “Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Leaders” attracted approximately 900 UAE students.  It was an opportunity for UAE students to network with their fellow students, connect with officials from the UAE and meet with top-rated UAE public and private companies. The Forum was also attended by top government officials and representatives from various U.S. departments and agencies.  In addition, students had the opportunity to meet Dr. Saif R. Al Mazrouei, Executive Director for Institutional & Support Services, Mr. Salem A. Alshamsi, the Acting Cultural Attaché, and their academic advisors from the Embassy and the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research. 

It included activities, workshops and a job fair with 20 UAE government organizations’ represented, such as Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Etihad Airways, Etihad Rail, Jumeirah Group, KhalifaFund, Masdar, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, etc.
